Lot No. 2 - Amavi Cellars
2017 Cabernet Franc Malbec Blend 55% Cabernet Franc, 45% Malbec Vineyards: Summit View, Goff and Pepper Bridge Vineyards Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Jean-François Pellet
This energetic blend of Cabernet Franc and Malbec is beautifully structured. Cabernet Franc is front and center, showing off its high tones and soft velvety tannins, married with Malbec to compliment dark, bold expressive fruit.
Lot No. 3 - Sleight of Hand Cellars
2017 Les Collines Block 50 Syrah 100% Syrah Vineyard: Les Collines Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemakers: Trey Busch, Jerry Solomon and Keith Johnson
Every year, we bring in this special block of Syrah from Les Collines Vineyard. It is pruned and trained differently than the rest of the vineyard (and frankly, different than anything in Washington State). Because of these unique viticultural practices, the resulting fruit is unlike anything we work with in the cellar. We employ 100% whole cluster during fermentation, foot crushing the entire lot. Native fermentation is the rule at Sleight of Hand, and the wine stays on the skins for 15-20 days. The wine is aged in large format barrels (mostly neutral) for 16 months, and in very special vintages, we bottle this wine on its own, with this year’s bottling dedicated to Reveal Walla Walla Valley. It will age for two decades or more.
Lot No. 4 - Lagana Cellars
2017 Bordeaux Blend 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Carménère Vineyards: J&S, Eritage and Seven Hills Vineyards Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 30 1.5L bottles Winemakers: Jason Fox and Todd Bernave
This Bordeaux-Style Blend is a unique trio of three vineyards from across the Walla Walla Valley: J&S Vineyards, Eritage Vineyard and Seven Hills Vineyard. This blend’s Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from J&S Vineyards in the central portion of the Valley, its Cabernet Franc hails from the northern part of the Valley at Eritage Vineyard, and its Carménère is grown at the famed Seven Hills Vineyard in the southern section of the AVA.
An old-world styled wine from a high elevation site planted on a fractured basalt ridge. Large tannin structures paired with natural acidity makes beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon that is greatly balanced but built to age.
Lot No. 6 - Dusted Valley
2017 Tallux Red Blend 79% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot Vineyard: Southwind Estate Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemakers: Chad Johnson, Corey Braunel and Griffin Frey
The 2017 Tallux Red Blend represents an extremely limited production, vineyard designate wine hand-crafted by the Dusted Valley family. This Merlot-based blend hails from Southwind Vineyard, one of Dusted Valley's three estate vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. The diversity in elevation and soil profiles make this vineyard an extremely special place to grow grapes. “Tallux” refers to the fierce hind talon of the falcon, and thus the wine is named for these amazing creatures who faithfully guard our vineyard each year from starlings and other birds in pursuit of the harvest. Crafted exclusively for the Reveal Walla Walla Valley Auction, this elegant wine showcases a beautiful spectrum of savory red – black brambly fruit, anise and intense minerality. It has a big and generous entry that builds with a rich progression and long finish framed by refreshing acidity and fine, firm mouth-coating tannins.
Lot No. 7 - Corliss
2017 Corliss Cabernet Franc 100% Cabernet Franc Vineyard: Blue Mountain Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Andrew Trio
Originally planted in 2001, our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard lies between 1,145 and 1,265 feet elevation in the foothills of the Blue Mountains in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. This unique lot is a blend of two of our most exceptional blocks of Clone 1 Cabernet Franc. This wine underwent fermentation by native yeast in concrete tanks and French oak barrels, with an extended time on skins followed by an extended maturation in barrel.
Lot No. 8 - Trust Cellars
2017 Les Collines Block 50 Syrah 100% Syrah Vineyard: Les Collines Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 30 1.5L bottles Winemaker: Steve Brooks
This Syrah comes from the most unusual vineyard block in the Walla Walla Valley. Looking more like Sideshow Bob's hair than a beautifully groomed made-for-TV vineyard scene, Block 50 at Les Collines Vineyard produces berries of a much smaller size than any other block of Syrah. The intensity of flavor is unique to this special place and is captured in this special bottling.
Lot No. 9 - Eternal Wines
2017 Eternal Revelation Syrah 100% Syrah Vineyards: Les Collines and Dwelley Vineyards Release date: Winter 2019/2020 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Brad Binko
This unique lot is a preview of what’s to come from Eternal Wines. This Syrah is a blend of fruit from Les Collines and Dwelley Vineyards. Les Collines Vineyard was picked early in the harvest while Dwelley Vineyard was picked towards the end. At the winery, Syrah from these vineyards will be bottled as vineyard designate wines. However, the fruit from these vineyards complement one another nicely, producing a beautiful Walla Walla Valley Syrah exclusive to Reveal Walla Walla Valley.
Lot No. 10 - Forgeron Cellars
2017 The Minnick 50% Malbec, 50% Merlot Vineyard: Minnick Hills Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 30 1.5L bottles Winemaker: Cody Janett
A one-of-a-kind blend sourced from one of Walla Walla Valley's best grower's, Laura Minnick. The Malbec and Merlot for this wine were harvested at the same time and then co-fermented. The result is seamless and silky, with the Merlot offering notes of strawberry and milk chocolate, while the Malbec contributes tannin, structure, herbal and leathery components.
Lot No. 11 - Pepper Bridge Winery
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot Vineyard: Seven Hills Vineyard Release date: Spring 2020 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Jean-François Pellet
This Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the classic style of what the Walla Walla Valley and Seven Hills Vineyard have to offer. Dark fruit, earthy tones and minerality paired with Jean-François Pellet’s Old-World winemaking style create a harmonious, balanced wine with tremendous depth.
Lot No. 12 - Tranche
2017 Tranche Cabernet Sauvignon 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard: Blue Mountain Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Andrew Trio
Originally planted in 2001, our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard lies between 1,145 and 1,265 feet elevation in the foothills of the Blue Mountains in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. This special bottling is a unique selection of our most outstanding components of 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, which go into making Tranche’s flagship estate wine.
Our Cadaretta estate Southwind Vineyard is just west of Milton-Freewater in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. This estate includes soil types common in Walla Walla Valley vineyards, as well as distinctive soils that make Southwind Vineyard special. Most of the Walla Walla Valley's best vineyards are planted on Loess soils. Loess soils are not local in origin. They are very finely ground granitic types, crushed to dust by glacial action, and redistributed through our region by wind and water. The medium elevation parts of our Southwind Vineyard have been planted on these Loess soils and produce the quality of wine that has made Walla Walla famous. At Southwind, these are our Rootsock and Glasshouse blocks, and new plantings lower on the slope. Our Fractured blocks are distinguished by soil type. Our Block 1431 is distinguished by its elevation.
Lot No. 14 - College Cellars of Walla Walla
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard: Stan Clarke Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemakers: Crystal Kampling, Kelsey Itameri, Drew Paulk, Tuff Goble and Tim Donahue
This Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% estate grown by students in Walla Walla Community College's Institute for Enology and Viticulture (IEV). As the maiden vintage for Director of Viticulture Joel Perez, one of Wine Enthusiasts 2017 “40 Under 40” taste-makers, this wine celebrates the successes of the IEV and its students.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon hails from our Holy Roller Estate Vineyard in The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater and is aged in 100% new French Oak for 22 months. Saturated dark crimson to the rim. The complicated nose boasts black pepper, rare tenderloin, crushed boysenberry, sarsaparilla, coffee and soil. Somehow all those aromas come together in a symphonic way that is mesmerizing. On the palate, the wine has intensely focused fruit, is smooth with remarkable freshness (especially for wine grown in The Rocks) and closes with very soft tannins and an exceedingly long finish.
Lot No. 16 - Gifford Hirlinger
2017 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards: Stephanie Marie and Foggy Vineyards Release date: Spring 2020 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Mike Berghan
This wine is composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a blend of 3 clones of Cabernet Sauvignon (clones 2, 8, and 24) grown in two of our estate vineyards, Stephanie Marie Vineyard and Foggy Vineyard. It will be aged approximately two years in 50% new French oak barrels.
Lot No. 17 - L'Ecole N° 41
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Block 4 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard: Ferguson Estate Vineyard Release date: Winter 2020 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemakers: Marty Clubb and Mike Sharon
Ferguson Vineyard is a stunning, high elevation site overlooking a panoramic view of the Walla Walla Valley. Vines are rooted in fractured basalt rock from 15-million-year-old ancient lava flows overlaid with a thin layer of wind-blown, glacial loess. Ferguson’s signature flavor profile is distinctly influenced by its basalt soil. This wine offers complex aromas of dark fruit, espresso grounds, savory herbs and dried roses with iron and graphite minerality. Rich stone-laced tannins with intricate layers in the mid-palate are balanced with natural acidity leading to a robust and lingering finish.
We have produced Walla Walla Carménère from Seven Hills Vineyard since 2002 and are the longest running producers of Washington Carménère. Renowned wine writer, Paul Gregutt, hailed the REININGER Carménère as “a strong claim for being the best Carménère in Washington, if not the country.” Carménère is one of our most sought-after wines and sells out almost exclusively to our members. We are ecstatic to produce a limited production Carménère blend for the Reveal 2019 auction. This wine is the result of our winemaker Chuck Reininger’s passion for exploring the best fruit Walla Walla has to offer. Sourced from vines planted at Seven Hills Vineyard in 1999, this single vineyard Carménère – Cabernet Sauvignon blend is full-bodied with balanced acid, medium-fine tannins, and scents of dark red fruits and peppercorn with hints of earth. Our wines reflect the adventurous spirit of Chuck Reininger, the first to establish a brand using fruit exclusively from the Walla Walla Valley AVA. Every sip tells a story, from this region’s rich natural history to the wonderfully nuanced diversity in every grape varietal.

This lot is 100% Clone 877 Syrah, aged on the lees in a large format 500 L French oak puncheon for 20 months. Black cherry, plum, allspice and sweet tobacco notes accompany ample silky tannins. Bright natural acidity ushers in a balanced, lengthy finish.
Lot No. 21 - Gramercy Cellars
2017 Les Collines Syrah 100% Syrah Vineyard: Les Collines Vineyard Release date: Spring 2020 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Greg Harrington
This Syrah is a barrel select from a hillside block at Les Collines Vineyard - a vineyard where hillside blocks tend to have the most concentration and depth of all the blocks. Traditionally, this block is the base for our Gramercy Reserve, John Lewis Syrah. The 2017 vintage was picked early to preserve acidity. The wine was fermented with native yeast, 100% whole cluster in a concrete Nomblot tank and aged in Neutral French Puncheon.
Lot No. 22 - Tamarack Cellars
2017 Seven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard: Seven Hills Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 30 1.5L bottles with etched labels Winemaker: Danny Gordon
Seven Hills Vineyard is in the Walla Walla Valley AVA on a celebrated site in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. In 2004, Seven Hills Vineyard was named one of the Top 10 Vineyards in America by Wine & Spirits Magazine. The grapes of this Cabernet Sauvignon were crushed gently and dropped by gravity into 1.5-ton bins, cold soaked 48 hours, inoculated with a variety of yeasts, hand punched and pressed directly to barrel, where the wine finished both primary and secondary fermentations. Aged in 100% French oak, 50% new and 50% 2nd vintage barrels, the wine was kept in barrel for 18 months, and these high-quality barrels were selected to create the Reveal Auction Lot.
Lot No. 23 - Woodward Canyon
2017 Estate Cabernet Franc 100% Cabernet Franc Vineyard: Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard Release date: Spring 2020 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Kevin Mott
This 100% Cabernet Franc is from our Estate Vineyard at the western edge of the Walla Walla Valley. This vineyard is designated Salmon Safe as is this wine which was fermented in small open top tanks with native yeast and was punched down two times per day. After pressing, this wine went to new French chateau barrels for maturation and development. This wine exhibits a Right-Bank (St. Emilion) style that we find intriguing and enticing. The resulting wine is elegant with generous black fruit and cassis. A breadth of baking spice and vanilla from new oak integrates beautifully with the aromatic Cabernet Franc fruit. A nose of ripe black fruits and sweet pipe tobacco develops in the glass; the color is dark red. The wine has an amazingly silky texture yet transitions to a firm and very well-balanced mouth feel; the finish is rich, layered and long. There is a distinct “expression” or “sense of place” in this wine. With proper cellaring, this wine should age well for ten years.
Lot No. 24 - Walla Walla Vintners
2017 Cabernet Franc 100% Cabernet Franc Vineyard: Waliser Vineyard Release date: Fall 2019 Lot size: 60 bottles Winemaker: Derrek Vipond
Taste the unique characteristics that The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA can offer. This Cabernet Franc is our only Rocks District bottling. Wafts of strawberry give way to brambly blackberry, cassis and plum. Black fruit dominates the palate with hints of graphite and cola. Chalky tannins linger on the extended finish.
Lot No. 25 - Abeja
2017 Red Wine 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc Vineyards: Heather Hill and Mill Creek Vineyards Release date: TBD Lot size: 60 bottles Winemakers: Dan Wampfler and Amy Alvarez-Wampfler
Abeja has been producing highly collectible, sought-after Cabernet Sauvignon since the winery’s first vintage in 2001. For this one-of-a-kind lot, winemakers Daniel Wampfler and Amy Alvarez-Wampfler have crafted a rare Bordeaux-style blend using top lots from the winery’s sustainably farmed estate vineyards. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from Abeja’s Heather Hill Estate comprise the majority of this age-worthy blend. Planted in the southwest corner of the Walla Walla Valley AVA in 2002, Heather Hill is notable for its diverse soils and varied topography. Each block has a unique flavor profile, allowing the winemakers to craft a complex, layered wine of exceptional quality that displays the vineyard’s vibrant red fruit characteristics and earthy undertones. Merlot from Abeja’s nine-acre Mill Creek Estate Vineyard surrounding the winery on the east side of the Walla Walla Valley floor makes up the balance of the blend. The winery planted a small portion of the vineyard with three distinct Merlot clones in 2006, used here to build refined elegance and polished tannins in the finished wine.
